Then in order to kill someone in one go, where do you have to aim? Here. The cranium for the brain, and the ribs for the lungs and hearts. Thug: Did you just drop formalities with me?ĭongshik: Usually our bones are protecting our vital organs. The thug described the sashimi style of killing.ĭongshik: (smirking) You can’t kill people by doing that. – Verbal Kintĭongshik: I asked how you killed that person. The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he did not exist. Here’s the famous quote from that movie about the greatest trick of a psychopath devil.Īfter that, my guess is that you will never hear from him again. The clues had been right there all along and one of them was from the broken ceramic mug…just like the broken porcelain lid of the toilet tank. When the FBI man found out that he’d been deceived, the man had vanished into thin air. He didn’t know that the cripple was faking it and he let the guy go. But he let him go because he didn’t believe that a cripple could have done it. I didn’t watch this film but from what I read, the ultimate plot twist here was that hotshot from FBI had the real culprit right under his nose. He drank a lot, didn’t he?īad boss: You asshole! Hey, you asshole, this is really…īad boss: This son of a bitch’s eyes were glaring and he was going to hit me. Police sidekick: Did the team leader break the lid of the toilet tank? I’m not a fan of thriller/horror films so most of the connection and significance of the movies are lost on me. Even though the scenarios were ridiculous to a comedic effect, I like that the writers explored this self-fulfilling loop, and were careful not to make Dong Sik lose his original kind and humane personality.I’m making a list of movie references because I know this will be needed later. This is in contrast to his old self, who often backed down after receiving harsh comments. For Dong Sik's case, because he so stubbornly believed that he was a cold-blooded psychopath, he was able to harden himself and stand up to bullies, even to the extent of creating psychopathic plans (like kidnapping his boss). ![]() This ultimately produces a self-fulfilling loop. ![]() It describes the phenomenon in which your actions/attitudes, which are driven by your existing beliefs, end up eliciting behaviours or outcomes that confirm your initial expectations. There's a theory in social psychology called the self-fulfilling prophecy. Things only picked up for me after he decided to confess.Īs a psychology major I do feel that the topic was quite interesting. I found it refreshing and funny in the beginning but honestly I became quite annoyed with Dong Sik for mistaking himself as the psychopath for the first ~6 or so episodes. ![]()
